i rolled up to the window of this car and gave the driver a friendly, hey you've got your crossover SUV parked in my bike lane. (the car had been sitting in the bike lane through at least three light changes).
he turned to the woman sitting next to him who was doing something with a cosmetics bag (was she really sitting there putting on her makeup) and gestured to her to hurry up and get out of the car.
Valencia st and 24th street, San francisco, CA
This Lexis is parked in the bikelane on Valencia just before 24th Street during the busy morning commute hours.
A bonus, when the driver saw me taking a photo of his license plate he decided to circle the block.
what was extra frustrating about this guy is that there were metered parking spaces available just up the block had he bothered to parallel park rather than just parking in the bike lane.

As seen by the third picture (click through entry to see more photos), this is the shuttle picking up 600 Townsend employees at Civic Center and ferrying them to the south of market work place. transit for employees is laudable. but the daily pick up spot should not be in the bike lane.

A tour bus sits in the bikelane near Hotel Whitcomb, forcing cyclists out of the bikelane and into dangerous traffic.

It must be the same company that runs these employee shuttles that park for pickup in the bike lane on Market between 8th and 9th

Adobe makes great products. And it's great that it provides a shuttle for employees. But it's not great that it parks in the bike lane.
See the full posting to click on the photo which shows the sign on the side of the bus which sports the Adobe logo and "CIVIC CENTER SHUTTLE

Again, a tour bus queues up in the bike lane a few yards away from Hotel Whitcomb.

in the popular valencia street bike lane, with cyclists streaming by, a woman sits in the front of her minivan typing on a macbook.
i actually stopped to say to her through the closed window - it's not ok to be stopped in the bike lane. she didn't move.
1245 Market St., San francisco, CA
not sure if this is part of the 600 townsend shuttle or not. but private tour companies / shuttle providers keep using the bike lane in front of hotel whitcomb to pick up passengers forcing cyclists into traffic while they idle in our lane.
1245 Market St., San francisco, CA
why even have a bike lane if it's just going to be used as a tour bus parking lot?
1245 Market St., San francisco, CA
The bike lane in front of Hotel Whitcomb is once again a parking lot for tour buses.

Hipsters run to catch this shuttle which on its side (not pictured) indicates that it is run by 600 Townsend, a conference/business facility at 7th and Townsend.
If you know anyone who works there, can you tell them NOT to have the impromptu shuttle stop located right in the middle of a bike lane?

He looked like a nice guy. He was parked right in the bike lane and running into the Bethel Christian Church at the corner of Valencia and 24th Sts in the Mission.
But would Jesus park in the bike lane, especially during the busy morning commute?

This Lincoln Town Car was idling in the bike lane on Valencia during the busy morning commute. Bicyclists were having to merge into a single lane of car commuters.
1245 Market St., San francisco, CA
This driver actually moved after he noticed my taking a picture of his van.
See how bicyclists have to merge into downtown traffic to get around the parking lot in the bike lane.
1234 Valencia Street, San francisco, CA
The guy in this VW Jetta was talking on his iPhone, I think. I was late for dinner and tempted just to keep going. But then I saw the Sierra Club sticker in the back window (click through to see additional photos, including a Sierra Club sticker close up!)
Just because you belong to the Sierra Club doesn't mean you can create a dangerous situation for bicyclists while you double park in the bike lane and talk on your iPhone.
Market St. and Valencia St., San francisco, CA
a FedEx truck is double parked in the bike lane at Market & Valencia. it's extra dicey because bikes then have to swing into a lane with trolley tracks.
you can see from the third picture that the truck is parked directly over the bike lane indicator.
1245 Market St., San francisco, CA
Tour buses -- presumably idling while waiting for tourists staying at Hotel Whitcomb -- regularly park in the bike lane about 10 yards south of the hotel. why not illegally park directly in front of the hotel in the right turn lane?
you can see it's a dangerous spot for bicyclists who then have to swing out left into the main traffic lane.
does the hotel direct them to park further up the block in the bike lane?
does anyone know the agency that regulates tour buses in california? i'd make a report.
280 Valencia St., San francisco, CA
How green is it for a Green Taxi Prius to block the bike lane?
Maybe part of the Green Taxi experience should be blocking the vehicle lane while bikes can whiz by.
you'll have to watch out to avoid being doored by passengers getting out on the curb side.
1245 Market St., San francisco, CA
You can see from the picture that bikes are having to take the lane to get around this van parked one of the few portions of market st downtown that has an actual demarcated bike lane.
just 30 feet or so ahead, vans regularly park in the right turn lane. but this guy made a decision to stop in the bike lane instead.
i have a secondary photo that shows the van is parked literally on top of the painted bike lane marker.
