Here is a Veolia/SuperShuttle bus driver accomplishing a rare global warming trifecta - parking in bike lane, idling his engine, and sleeping on the job (see photo). Such multitasking is rare, even in this day and age. I hope he isn't too tired to shuttle 60 people around the Bay Area every day - could be dangerous. He sure looks cozy in there. Maybe we should just put a couch in the bike lane so he is more comfortable?

Here is an Amtrak contracted bus parked two feet off the curb and blocking most of the bike lane on the Embarcadero. While taking the picture the driver asked me what I was doing. "You are blocking the bike lane, sir," I replied. He eloquently responded, "Fuck you, asshole, don't you have anything better to do?" He did move the bus, however!

Here is a temporary no parking sign parked squarely in the bike lane. The event occurred almost 48 hours ago but the sign is still blocking bike commuter traffic. Next year could we place these in the gutter next to the street?

Just because you drive a Prius doesn't mean that you get to create some pollution elsewhere - you park in the bike lane -> bikers get discouraged from biking due to safety concerns -> they drive instead. Next time take advantage of your empty driveway, please.

Nice big Amtrak bus parked 2 feet off the curb and thus in the middle of the bike lane on Embarcadero. I am not sure if this is part of Amtrak's campaign of getting people off of the road and onto the train, but I am not sold.
Worse yet, they were idling. Driver was not in his seat. What is the MPG on a big ass bus moving at 0 MPH????

The Delancey Street Foundation is a wonderful charity. I have used them for several moves and donated hundreds of $. Unfortunately, I won't be giving them any more of my $ until they stop needlessly endangering the lives of bikers. I have asked their drivers three times to park on the curb in order to free the bike lane. As you can see here, they needlessly left 2+ feet on the right side, forcing them into the bike lane and me and my bike into 40 mph Embarcadero traffic.

This pickup truck is very patriotic but doesn't seem to give a hoot about neighbors who bike or walk - it is blocking the both the bike lane and the sidewalk. The driveway next to the pickup has plenty of free space. Also, wouldn't the neighborhood look nicer if there were no cars parked in the street? It is ironic that local building code requires that houses have a minimum amount of off-street parking but residents have no incentive to use it.

Blocking both the bike lane and the sidewalk on Ralston in Belmont. Ironically, the driveway on the right (in white) is completely free for parking. There is a senior center a block from here and seniors in motorized wheelchairs use the bike lane to get to the market. I hope granny has a good rearview mirror before diving into traffic to get around this car.
